Waterford, VA is located 8 miles northwest of the Town of Leesburg, VA off Rt. 9.  Waterford was established in 1733 by Quaker settlers.  The annual Waterford Fair celebrates the trades and journeyman skills of the early inhabitants of Waterford.  The Waterford Fair is held the first Saturday of October every year.  Historic homes and gardens are on tour and many talented artisans exhibit and sell their wares.  Today visitors to Waterford, Virginia experience many of the same pastoral views as residents in the late 18th and early 19th Centuries.  There are also many great homes for sale in Waterford.  Waterford preserves it history and retains most of the structures existant from Waterford's early years, when it was a flour mill town.

The village is a Loudoun County Historic and Cultural Conservation Site, on the Virginia Historic Landmarks Register and on the National Register of Historic Places.  In 1970 the village along with the farmland surrounding it was designated a National Historic Landmark District.  There are only three such landmarks in the entire United States. The Waterford Foundation is an historic preservation organization that's kept the unique legacy of the village of Waterford and it's surrounding setting. The annual Waterford Fair invites visitors for 3 days of journeyman handicrafts, history, music and food. Historic home tours of these and other homes and structures are featured during this event:
